Nori and Rice Seaweed Salad
This nori and rice seaweed salad is a sweet and savory type of salad with a nice crunch and very mild seaweed flavor.
Ingredients
- 1/8 White Onion
- 1/4 Cup of white rice
- 2 sheets of dried Nori
- 1/2 Tomato
- 1 TBSP Brown Sugar
- 1 TBSP rice vinegar
- 1 TBSP White Wine Vinegar
- 2 tsp soy sauce
Directions
- Cook
rice in enough water to cover 1/2 inch above level of rice until water
is evaporated off. Be sure to stir constantly at the end.
- Mix brown sugar, rice vinegar, white wine vinegar,
and soy sauce together until sugar dissolves
- Cut nori into thin 1/4 inch wide, 2 inch long strips
- Dice tomato and onion
- Add tomato, onion, and nori to the sugar mixture,
mixing well
- Pour off any extra water in the rice, and pour any
extra sugar/vinegar mixture into the rice WITHOUT pouring in seaweed,
tomato, and onion
- Cook rice for about 3 minutes on medium heat,
stirring constantly.
- Combine seaweed, tomato, and onion and enjoy your
salad warm
