Nori and Rice Salad





Nori and Rice Seaweed Salad

This nori and rice seaweed salad is a sweet and savory type of salad with a nice crunch and very mild seaweed flavor.

Ingredients

  • 1/8 White Onion
  • 1/4 Cup of white rice
  • 2 sheets of dried Nori
  • 1/2 Tomato
  • 1 TBSP Brown Sugar
  • 1 TBSP rice vinegar
  • 1 TBSP White Wine Vinegar
  • 2 tsp soy sauce

Directions

  1. Cook rice in enough water to cover 1/2 inch above level of rice until water is evaporated off. Be sure to stir constantly at the end.
  2. Mix brown sugar, rice vinegar, white wine vinegar, and soy sauce together until sugar dissolves
  3. Cut nori into thin 1/4 inch wide, 2 inch long strips
  4. Dice tomato and onion
  5. Add tomato, onion, and nori to the sugar mixture, mixing well
  6. Pour off any extra water in the rice, and pour any extra sugar/vinegar mixture into the rice WITHOUT pouring in seaweed, tomato, and onion
  7. Cook rice for about 3 minutes on medium heat, stirring constantly.
  8. Combine seaweed, tomato, and onion and enjoy your salad warm
